The consolidated financial statements should include gains or losses only when the property is sold to outsiders (parties outside the affiliated group) for the difference between the cost to the consolidated entity and the proceeds from outsiders. Until it is sold to outsiders, the property should be presented in the consolidated balance sheet at its cost to the affiliated group.
