CPA Exam Jurisdiction ID Number
When applying for the Uniform CPA Examination, candidates may be asked for a Jurisdiction Identification Number (Jurisdiction ID). This is a unique identifier issued by the jurisdiction (state board or equivalent) where you apply and is used to connect your exam application with official candidate systems.
What is a Jurisdiction ID?
A Jurisdiction ID is assigned in connection with the jurisdiction that approves your CPA Exam application. It is not the same as a National Candidate ID. NASBA explains the difference in its guidance on Candidate (National) ID vs Jurisdiction ID.
When you may need it
You may be asked for your Jurisdiction ID when linking or accessing your account in the CPA Portal, checking application or exam status, or working with exam support.
How to find your Jurisdiction ID
In many cases, your Jurisdiction ID appears on official exam-related communications or within your account once your application is processed. If you cannot locate it, contact the jurisdiction (state board) through which you applied. NASBA provides an official directory of Boards of Accountancy.
55 jurisdictions (states, DC, and territories)
The CPA Exam is administered at the jurisdiction level, across 55 jurisdictions. NASBA’s official list is available on NASBA CPA Examination Services (CPAES) Jurisdictions.
